Boeing delivers upgraded P-8A Poseidon to US Navy

Boeing has delivered the first Increment 3 Block 2 P-8A Poseidon aircraft to the U.S. Navy, providing enhanced anti-submarine warfare technology and capabilities.

  • The delivery also marks a milestone for Boeing Global Services’ maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in Jacksonville, Florida, which opened in 2024 and is where the team performs the modification work.

Why it matters: Key improvements such as new antennas, sensors and wiring improve the aircraft computer processing and communication systems, allowing aircrews to search, detect and target the most advanced submarines in the world.
