Florida Chamber Endorses Byron Donalds as Florida’s Next Governor

Today, the Florida Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Byron Donalds as Florida’s next governor during a press conference held in Tampa.

In addition to providing remarks at the press conference, Florida Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mark Wilson released the following quote in support of Congressman Byron Donalds:

Florida is changing. Florida’s economy and population continue to grow, and in order to keep Florida moving into the next eight years with as much positive growth as the last eight, voters must get to the polls and elect leaders like Byron Donalds. Congressman Donalds has spent his career standing up for Florida’s job creators, small businesses and workers and will fight to enact policies that allow for more high-wage jobs, improve Florida’s education system, and ensure Florida remains the top destination for businesses, families and opportunity. The number one action Floridians can take to help the outcome of this election is to vote, because nothing less than Florida’s future is at stake.”

At receiving the Florida Chamber’s endorsement, Congressman Byron Donalds remarked, “I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Florida’s largest and most influential business advocacy organization, the Florida Chamber of Commerce. I’m committed to making life more affordable by keeping taxes low, reducing burdensome regulations and litigation, and diversifying our economy. As Governor, I look forward to continuing to work with the Florida Chamber to create more high-paying jobs for Floridians and further Florida’s reputation as the best state in the country for business.”

During his time in the Florida House of Representatives, Byron Donalds was an A-rated legislator on the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Report Card with a lifetime grade of 96%. In the Florida Chamber’s most recent statewide poll, Congressman Donalds held an 8-point lead in a potential head-to-head general election contest.

As Florida approaches a $2 trillion-dollar economy with more than 10 million jobs, a workforce larger than the population of 40 states, and an economy that would be the 15th-largest in the world if Florida were a country, voters continue to tell us that Florida is moving in the right direction. With the August 18th Florida statewide primary and November 3rd general election drawing closer, it’s important now more than ever that we elect a leader who can keep Florida’s forward momentum going.
