About the Healthcare Partnership
The Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Healthcare Partnership was created to unify Florida’s employers to help advance legislation that lowers costs, increases access to care, promotes better healthcare outcomes and fights government policies that undermine Florida’s competitiveness.
The Florida Chamber Healthcare Partnership membership is made up of a diverse group of business leaders from Fortune 500 Companies to small, privately owned firms. No matter what industry segment your company represents, every business must address healthcare related issues. From the rising costs of insurance premiums to provider access, the business community must unite to help create an environment where employers, employees and providers can thrive.
Speaking in one voice to discuss and advance Florida’s healthcare priorities allows the Florida Chamber Healthcare Partnership to leverage the best thought leaders throughout Florida to support legislation that will drive innovation, while continuing to address current healthcare shortfalls. With the shared vision of Florida’s business community, we can help ensure Florida becomes a top 5 state for overall well-being — one of the Florida 2030 Blueprint goals.
Why It Matters to Florida
The Florida Chamber and its Healthcare Partnership believe that a healthy population and a strong, growing economy are intrinsically interconnected and as such, we will continue advocating for a coordinated, comprehensive approach that emphasizes value with outcome measurements.
The Florida Chamber Healthcare Partnership is made up of diverse business leaders, all working towards the goal of lowering costs and providing better outcomes within Florida’s healthcare system. The Healthcare Partnership is chaired by Russ Thomas, the CEO of Availity.
Florida’s Competitiveness Agenda
A value-based healthcare system focused on outcomes is a vital component to the overall economic health of our state and critical to Florida’s future competitiveness. To provide healthcare to the state’s growing and aging population and make Florida a top 5 state for overall well-being as outlined by the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 2030 Blueprint goals, the Healthcare Partnership is focused on market-based, innovative policies that will control costs, increase transparency, deliver greater access & quality of care, and promote a healthy population.
