The Coolest Thing Made in Florida competition supports the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Florida 2030 Blueprint goal of making Florida a Top 5 state for manufacturing jobs by 2030. Florida’s manufacturing sector employs more than 430,000 Floridians, pays an average wage of $86,405, and plays an essential role in driving economic growth, innovation, and exports across the state.
“This year’s competition reached an important milestone with manufacturers representing all 67 Florida counties,” said Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. “That achievement reflects the strength, diversity, and statewide impact of Florida’s manufacturing sector. From rural communities to major metropolitan areas, manufacturers are creating jobs, driving innovation, and helping secure Florida’s future as we work toward our Florida 2030 Blueprint goal of becoming a Top 5 state for manufacturing jobs.”
Public voting to determine the Top 32 products will begin June 15 and continue through July 1 at CoolestThingMadeInFlorida.com. Floridians are encouraged to vote for their favorite Florida-made products and help determine which products advance to the bracket-style competition.
“Manufacturing remains one of the most important drivers of Florida’s economy, supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs and producing products that are recognized around the world,” said David Sweeney, Chairman of the board for RS&H and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. “The companies represented in this year’s Top 100 are helping strengthen Florida’s competitiveness, create economic opportunity, and secure Florida’s future.”
As part of this year’s competition, the Florida Chamber and FloridaCommerce plan to visit the two finalist manufacturers during National Manufacturing Week in October to highlight their facilities, workforce, and the impact manufacturing has on communities across Florida.
“The products advancing to the Top 100 demonstrate the strength and innovation of Florida’s manufacturing sector,” said Jason Mahon, Deputy Secretary of Economic Development and Chief Manufacturing Officer at FloridaCommerce. “With manufacturers from all 67 counties represented in this year’s competition, we are proud to recognize the companies and workers whose ingenuity and dedication are helping build Florida’s future and strengthen our position as a national manufacturing leader.”
