Florida Chamber of Commerce Announces Endorsement of Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson
Today, the Florida Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Commissioner Wilton Simpson for re-election as Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
“The Florida Chamber of Commerce fully endorses Wilton Simpson to continue serving as Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services,” said Florida Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mark Wilson. “As Commissioner, Wilton Simpson has been a champion for Florida’s vital agricultural community and for supporting Florida farmers and consumers alike. A past recipient of the Florida Chamber’s Most Valuable Legislator award during his time in the Florida Senate, Wilton Simpson has taken the lessons of being a local business owner and applied them to improving the business climate for free enterprise in Florida throughout his time in public service.”
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of my longtime partners at the Florida Chamber of Commerce,” said Commissioner Wilton Simpson. “We’ve worked together for years to strengthen Florida’s economy, support local business, and keep our state the best place in the nation to live, work, and raise a family. I’m grateful for their confidence and look forward to continuing our work together.”
Prior to his election as Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services in 2022, Commissioner Simpson served in the Florida Senate from 2012 to 2022, rising to the office of President of the Senate during his final two years in the chamber. Among his many achievements during this tenure was the passage of the Florida Right to Farm Act, protecting legacy farms from the damage of frivolous litigation efforts, and he has continued to build upon this foundation during his first term as Commissioner.
As a lifelong Florida farmer and entrepreneur, Commissioner Simpson possesses a deep and personal knowledge of the essential role Florida farmers play in making Florida’s economy the 14th-largest in the world, as well as the challenges the agricultural community faces. The Florida Chamber political operations team is proud to put its more than 100 years of combined political experience toward ensuring Commissioner Simpson’s re-election in November.
