Florida Chamber Endorses Ashley Moody for Florida’s Next Attorney General
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 28, 2018)— Today, the Florida Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Ashley Moody as Florida’s next Attorney General during the Florida Chamber’s Board of Directors meeting in Orlando.
As a fifth generation Floridian, Ashley Moody understands the need to keep Florida’s families and communities safe.
Before being appointed as the youngest judge in Florida, Ashley Moody began her legal career with Holland & Knight, practicing commercial litigation. From there she moved to become a federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney’s Office where she was recognized by the DEA and Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement for her efforts in prosecuting violent and repeat offenders and her initiatives in drug law enforcement. Moody’s initiatives outside of the office, including her pro-bono work and mentorship program for at risk children, have earned her accolades from national Legal Services Corporation and the Florida Supreme Court.
Florida’s Attorney General is one of four cabinet members who regularly votes on issues impacting all Floridians. Florida’s Attorney General serves as the chief legal officer for the state of Florida and is in charge of protecting consumers from various forms of fraud and criminal activity such as drug trafficking, identity theft and more. Florida’s Attorney General also serves with other members of Florida’s Cabinet, as agency head for the Departments of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Law Enforcement, Revenue and Veterans Affairs.
