Three Manatees Return to Warmer Waters

Over the past few weeks, our team has been hard at work, returning three manatees to their natural habitat. While each manatee arrived at our care facility with varying needs, our veterinary experts worked around-the-clock to assist each sea cow throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Reckless and Churro, a mother-daughter duo, were rescued following a near-fatal boat strike while Plunk was rescued as an orphaned calf. Working with Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership, Save the Manatee Club, and wildlife officials, all three manatees made a full recovery and were returned to their natural habitat.

For an in-depth account of Reckless and Churro’s remarkable journey, read here. To learn more about Plunk’s inspiring return, read here.
