Over 74,000 Florida businesses are involved in logistics and distribution, and at least 724,000 jobs are tied to trade and logistics. Additionally, logistics-related activities account for 13 percent of Florida’s gross state product. The logistics and distribution industry will be a major factor in sustaining and expanding Florida’s workforce as globalization, digitization and advances in innovative technology continue to grow. The Florida Chamber’s efforts around trade, manufacturing and logistics are even more important as Florida is a growing logistics hub. It is important that the business community and government leaders work together to identify ways to increase investments in Florida’s infrastructure, as well as expand our current workforce, specifically in the logistics and distribution industry, in order to assist in addressing Florida’s future workforce needs.
