Florida Blue Foundation Expands Maternal Health Support in Indian River County

The Florida Blue Foundation is investing $3.5 million to strengthen maternal health programs across Florida, including in Indian River County. This funding will help local organizations expand services for mothers before, during, and after pregnancy.

In Indian River County, the Healthy Start Coalition will use the support to enhance postpartum care, provide bereavement support, and offer community-based doula services. These programs are designed to help families navigate pregnancy and early parenthood with guidance, emotional support, and practical resources.

The foundation’s initiative also supports other maternal health programs statewide, including mental health counseling, home visiting, and doula services for families facing health challenges. The goal is to improve outcomes for mothers and babies while building stronger, healthier communities.
