TMH Introduces Young Students to Healthcare Through Let’s Pretend Hospital Event

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare recently hosted its first Let’s Pretend Hospital event, welcoming second-grade students from Florida A&M University Developmental Research School for an interactive day focused on healthcare exploration.

Held at the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education, the experience was designed to help students become familiar with hospital settings in a fun and engaging way. Through hands-on activities and guided learning stations, students explored topics such as medical imaging, emergency services, laboratory testing, and the human body.

The event aimed to ease fears often associated with hospital visits by replacing uncertainty with curiosity and understanding. By learning through play and discovery, students gained confidence while being introduced to the wide range of careers that support patient care.

The inaugural event highlighted TMH’s commitment to education, community outreach, and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals through early, positive exposure to the world of medicine.
