Florida Chamber Regional Briefings Set-Up Discussions for Future of Florida Forum
This session, the Florida Chamber continued to fight against systemic and ongoing issues: water, healthcare, workers’ comp, property insurance, Florida’s pension systems and our dismal legal climate just to name a few. Thanks to the help of a proactive and focused agenda, we are able to make a difference in our state.
The Florida Chamber is currently traveling across Florida engaging business leaders on what more we can do to secure Florida’s future. These discussions are helping set the stage for the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 2014 Future of Florida Forum and Annual Meeting, held in Orlando from Sept. 2, 2014 to Oct. 1.
“At GE, we’ve found the Florida Chamber to be second to none when it comes to fighting for job creation in Florida,” said Trey Paris, U.S. Manager of State Government Relations for General Electric, Florida Chamber Board of Director Member and Chair of the Florida Caucus. “The Florida Chamber does incredible work on behalf of the business community to ensure our economy grows and that we are in the driver’s seat with a plan to secure our businesses.”
From region to region and coast to coast, we have found that Florida’s economy is improving, in part because of the efforts businesses are making to unite their communities around pro-business and pro-jobs initiatives. In fact, a recently released small business index survey shows Florida’s small businesses are feeling optimistic about their growth and opportunities in our state. And it’s exactly this feeling which we will continue to fight for and cultivate. We’ve been reminded in our travels that free enterprise isn’t free. But when we see the brave and courageous leadership of businesses like Gulf Power, General Electric, RS&H, Bank of America, Warren Averett, UF Health Shands, Disney, Chico’s FAS, Fisher & Phillips, Kitson & Partners, and many more, we are reminded of why we believe in fighting for a future that creates innovative solutions to long-term challenges.
