Space Coast Habitat for Humanity to Unveil First 3d-Printed Affordable Home and Celebrate Community Partnership Milestone

Space Coast Habitat for Humanity has unveiled its first 3D-printed affordable home and presented the keys to Mariah Humphries and her daughter during a Home Dedication & Community Partnership Celebration.

The project marks the completion of a groundbreaking affordable housing initiative launched in 2023 by Space Coast Habitat for Humanity, Macedonia Community Development Corporation, and robotic construction technology company Apis Cor to bring the first 3D-printed affordable homes to Brevard County.

Brevard County residents, media, and community partners are invited to gather at 2618 and 2620 Lipscomb Street in Melbourne to recognize this milestone for the Humphries family. The event highlights collaboration and advanced construction methods aimed at addressing the growing need for affordable housing across the Space Coast.

The program will include dedication of Space Coast Habitat for Humanity’s first 3D-printed affordable home, presentation of keys to Mariah Humphries and her daughter, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the neighboring Macedonia CDC partnership home.

“Today, we’re celebrating more than the completion of a house,” said Anna Terry, President of Space Coast Habitat for Humanity. “We’re celebrating a family’s future, the dedication of countless supporters, and what is possible when organizations come together to expand affordable housing opportunities.”

The project was made possible through the support of Wells Fargo, the City of Melbourne, Community Foundation for Brevard, and Space Coast Association of REALTORS® Foundation, who all shared a vision of expanding housing opportunities for local families.

Constructed using advanced 3D-printing technology developed by Apis Cor, the home represents a significant milestone in affordable housing on the Space Coast. The project demonstrates how 3D printing can work alongside traditional community partnerships to create safe, durable, and affordable homes for working families.
