“I think workers’ comp is one of the biggest issues facing the state of Florida, especially if you put it in the context of working families,” said Perry. “There is a tremendous amount of pressure for companies, like mine, that provide basic services to keep wages low.”

Floridians now have some of the highest workers’ comp rates in the Southeast. Compared to 2016, your workers’ comp rates were up 14.5 percent this year. That’s a $1.5 billion impact to Florida’s business community.

Senator Perry explains how increased workers’ comp rates impact jobs and families – specifically how higher rates can thwart a business’s ability to hire new talent. Senator Perry also shares thoughts on the challenges government regulations can have on start-up entrepreneurs.
