Bright Futures Bill Heads to the Governor’s Desk

Florida high school students will have expanded volunteer options toward earning Florida Bright Future Scholarships under a bill which has fully passed the Florida Legislature.

As a result of HB 793 by Representative Marlene O’Toole (R-The Villages), students will have the opportunity to engage in expanded service work areas, including professional and civic areas of interest, and will be encouraged to explore businesses and nonprofit community service organizations as potential careers.

This bill will be forwarded to Governor Rick Scott, who is expected to sign the bill into law.
