The Florida Chamber Foundation is Building the Roadmap to Amplify TL2030 Across Florida
By: Frank Ryll, Florida Chamber Strategic Initiatives Advisor
The Florida Chamber Foundation released the Florida Trade & Logistics 2030 Study (TL2030) at our annual Florida Transportation, Growth & Infrastructure Solution Summit in April, but the buck doesn’t stop there. To properly prepare Florida’s infrastructure for smart growth and development as directed by the Florida 2030 Blueprint, TL2030 must be an ongoing movement and this will take uniting Florida’s infrastructure leaders around the study’s six key strategies and recommendations – designed to help Florida take the next step in transforming its infrastructure.
To amplify the TL2030 movement, we have hit the road to engage Florida’s infrastructure leaders in the conversation. A few weeks ago, we addressed a room full of business, education, and government leaders at Florida 2030 Blueprint Goal Leader Florida Economic Development Council’s 2022 Annual Conference and also recently met with Community Development Partner Florida Power & Light to brief their external affairs team. Additionally, we have scheduled several upcoming summer meetings/speaking engagements with association partners, including Floridians for Better Transportation, Florida Airports Council, Florida Transportation Builders Association, American Planning Association, and are planning for regional rollout meetings throughout Florida as well. The assembly of our TL2030 workgroup is in the works, which will consist of key public and private sector partners and stakeholders. We also plan to highlight promising practices across Florida along the way, such as our Board of Directors member JAXPORT’s $420M harbor deepening project, that are integral to the TL2030 mission.
