Port Tampa Bay Volunteers Remove Nearly 108,000 Pounds of Trash During Annual Cleanup

Port Tampa Bay joined community partners and volunteers for the sixth annual Great Port Cleanup, a large-scale environmental effort focused on protecting Tampa Bay’s waterways and surrounding natural areas.

More than 1,000 volunteers participated in the initiative, collecting nearly 108,000 pounds of litter and debris from 32 locations throughout the region. The cleanup was organized in collaboration with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and the Propeller Club – Port of Tampa, bringing together businesses, community groups, and residents with a shared goal of preserving the local environment.

The annual event demonstrates the power of community partnership in addressing environmental challenges and promoting stewardship of Tampa Bay’s natural resources. By removing waste from shorelines, waterways, and surrounding areas, volunteers helped create a cleaner, healthier environment for both wildlife and residents.
