The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Work Initiative Launches Workforce Roundtable Series to Unite Leaders in Strengthening Florida’s Talent Pipeline

The Florida Chamber Foundation hosts the “Tallahassee Data Hub Roundtable on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Florida State University’s Student Services Building. The roundtable will convene business, education, policy, philanthropic, and community leaders to highlight the recently launched the Florida Talent Center Data Hub, a first-of-its-kind platform designed to empower decision-makers with essential insights for improving Florida’s talent pipeline. The Data Hub features key education and workforce data spanning early learning, K-12, postsecondary and workforce outcomes. Thank you to Helios Education Foundation for supporting this work.

“Businesses in the Tallahassee Region need to create approximately 25,000 new jobs by 2030 and Florida’s workforce is the backbone of our economy, and the future depends on the partnerships and best practices we create today,” said Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Foundation. “These roundtables provide local leaders an opportunity to discuss regional challenges, share what’s working, and identify solutions to strengthen Florida’s talent pipeline by leveraging localized workforce data.”

The event will also feature Amy Frizzell, Director of the Office of Programs and Re-Entry for the Florida Department of Corrections, leading a re-entry simulation to give participants first-hand insight into Floridians’ challenges as they re-enter the workforce.

“Re-entry is about more than a second chance. It is about building stronger families and communities by helping people find meaningful employment,” said Erica Averion, Executive Director of the Florida Foundation for Correctional Excellence. “When we connect data with action, we create opportunities that reduce recidivism and strengthen Florida’s workforce.”

Rachel Ludwig, Vice President of Talent Development for the Future of Work at the Florida Chamber Foundation, said the roundtables are designed to move from data to action. “The real work happens at the local level. By equipping regional leaders with both state and local insights into Florida’s talent supply and demand gaps and opportunities, we can move the needle on strengthening our workforce pipeline from cradle to career,” Ludwig said.

The Tallahassee roundtable is hosted in partnership with Florida State University and is part of a statewide series. Upcoming Data Hub Roundtables will take place in the following cities:

  1. Jacksonville in partnership with Miller Electric (10/14)
  2. Orlando in partnership with Valencia College (10/15)
  3.  Miami in partnership with the United Way (11/18)
  4. Fort Lauderdale with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance (11/19)
  5. Fort Myers in partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University (11/20)
  6. Pensacola in partnership with Pensacola State College (12/10)

“Employers, educators and community leaders all play a vital role in preparing Floridians for the jobs of today and tomorrow. These conversations help us better understand the opportunities ahead and ensure we are building a talent pipeline that supports both our people and our economy,” said Rob Liddell, AVP of FSU’s Career Services and Advisory Board member for the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Work Initiative.
