Alex Kelly

Alex Kelly is the secretary of the Florida Department of Commerce. Prior to his appointment, he served as the deputy chief of staff at the Executive Office of the Governor. Kelly has an extensive background and expertise in education and economic development, having served as the vice president for the Foundation of Excellence in Education and the chief of staff at the Florida Department of Education. He has held roles in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. Kelly has a bachelor’s degree in political science from York University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Florida. He lives in Tallahassee.
