Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Six to the State University System Board of Governors

Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Ashley Lukis, Michael Okaty, Keith Perry, and Nick Sinatra and the reappointment of Ashley Bell Barnett and Charles Lydecker to the Board of Governors of the State University System of Florida. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

• Ashley Lukis is a shareholder at GrayRobinson, P.A., with experience representing public entities and private clients and has served on the Florida Commission on Ethics. She holds a bachelor’s degree and juris doctor from Florida State University.

• Michael Okaty is a partner at Foley & Lardner, LLP, active in several nonprofit boards, and was named 2023 Lawyer of the Year in business organizations law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and a juris doctor from NYU.

• Keith Perry is president and owner of Perry Roofing Contractors and a former Florida legislator, with extensive community involvement.

• Nick Sinatra is founder of Sinatra and Company and a former White House associate political director, with degrees from Yale and The Wharton School.

• Ashley Bell Barnett, a community advocate, serves on multiple boards including Polk State College District Board of Trustees and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

• Charles Lydecker is CEO of Foundation Risk Partners and active in organizations such as the Florida Chamber of Commerce and NASCAR Foundation.
