JEA Hosts Senior Resource Day with Free Vaccines and Bill Assistance
JEA is holding a senior-focused community event on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at its headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida to provide important health and financial resources for older adults. With flu rates on the rise, JEA is partnering with the Duval County Health Department to offer free flu and shingles vaccinations to help protect seniors against common and potentially serious illnesses.
In addition to immunizations, the event brings together several community partners — including the City of Jacksonville Community Outreach, Catholic Charities, Jewish Family & Community Services, and United Way’s 211 program — to offer guidance on managing energy costs and accessing financial support. Throughout 2025, these organizations have distributed nearly $94,000 in assistance to more than 168 seniors, reflecting ongoing efforts to support vulnerable residents.
Attendees can also learn about JEA’s programs aimed at helping seniors save on their utility bills and receive information about additional aid options. United Way representatives noted that calling 211 can connect individuals with screening for potential financial assistance, including help with utility bills for those facing hardship.
