Statement from Mark Wilson, President & CEO, Florida Chamber on Recreational Marijuana Ballot Initiative
Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, released the following statement regarding the news that the Florida Supreme Court has dismissed the request for an advisory opinion on whether recreational marijuana should be on the 2026 ballot:
“Even after spending 205 million dollars, Big Weed still hasn’t convinced Floridians that legalizing recreational drug use makes Florida’s future any more secure. As I have said time and time again, the more Floridians learn about proposals to import California drug laws into Florida’s constitution, the less high they are on the idea of legalizing recreational drug use. The Florida Chamber will continue fighting to protect our constitution from out-of-state and special interests who believe it is for sale.”
