Rick Case Parking Garage Unveiled Following $1 Million Gift to Support Microsurgery Innovation at Baptist Health

Baptist Health Medical Center in Plantation has unveiled the newly named Rick Case Parking Garage, recognizing a generous $1 million gift from Rita Case, president and CEO of Rick Case Automotive Group. The contribution benefits microsurgery research and advanced technology at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care, strengthening the organization’s commitment to innovation in patient care.
The gift supports leading-edge technology, specialized equipment, staff education, and research related to microsurgery and biomechanics for orthopedic and nerve treatment. These investments help Baptist Health surgeons and researchers improve mobility, restore function, and enhance quality of life for patients with complex hand injuries and disabilities.
“Research and technology are paramount to the future of healthcare,” said Case. “Healthcare is one of our most important philanthropic pillars, and Baptist Health continues to deliver extraordinary care and life-saving innovation throughout South Florida.”
The naming of the 1,000-space parking garage also reflects a personal connection to the Plantation community. Case noted that it was in Plantation where the Rick Case Automotive Group opened the first Acura and Hyundai dealerships in the United States more than 40 years ago, making the location especially meaningful.
Baptist Health Foundation leadership expressed gratitude for the impact of the gift and the vision behind it. “We thank Rita for her generosity and trust as we pursue our mission to deliver compassionate, world-class care,” said Alex Villoch, CEO of Baptist Health Foundation. “Support like this makes transformative healthcare possible.”
The Rick Case Parking Garage now stands as both a functional addition to the medical campus and a lasting symbol of philanthropy advancing the future of orthopedic care in South Florida.
