Florida Chamber of Commerce Endorses Jake Johansson In Senate District 8 for the 2026 Election
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 2, 2025) — The Florida Chamber of Commerce is once again uniting Florida’s business community for good and today endorsed Jake Johansson for Senate District 8 for the 2026 election.
Johansson served our country for 35 years as a member of the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Navy Captain, before transitioning his lifetime of public service to local government as Port Orange City Manager and as a member of the Volusia County Council. He has dedicated his career to making life better for families, local businesses, his community and our country. Jake is committed to working to reduce the costly effects of inflation, create good paying jobs and build a workforce that can compete in the 21st century global economy.

Florida’s 8th Senate District in Volusia County is rated as a Solid Republican district on the Florida Chamber’s Partisan Performance Index. Both President Trump in 2024 and Governor DeSantis in 2022 won more than 60 percent of the vote in the 8th District. The Florida Chamber of Commerce puts its full 100-plus years of combined political experience behind getting Jake Johansson elected.
