Chromalloy, based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has been named the 2025 winner of the inaugural Coolest Thing Made in Florida competition for its Jet Engine Blades.
Chromalloy manufactures state-of-the-art, FAA-approved jet engine replacement parts — known as Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMAs) — for the complex high-pressure turbine (HPT) section of aerospace engines. High-pressure turbine blades are among the most advanced and intricate components engineered in the aerospace industry. Chromalloy designs these parts in Palm Beach Gardens, casts them in Tampa, and machines and coats them in Oldsmar, Florida.
The announcement came live on stage at the Future of Florida Forum (F3) & Florida Chamber Annual Meeting, held in Orlando.
Presented by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the statewide competition celebrates the innovation, talent, and economic impact of Florida’s manufacturing industry. The program highlights innovative products, showcases the talent behind them, and recognizes the impact these companies have on Florida’s future economy.
“This contest is an important way to spotlight the creativity and dedication that define Florida manufacturers,” said Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. “The Florida Chamber is honored to recognize companies that are creating jobs, advancing innovation, and helping achieve the goals of the Florida 2030 Blueprint — including making Florida a Top 5 manufacturing state by 2030.”
“Florida manufacturers are showing the nation what makes our state a leader in innovation and job creation,” said Jason Mahon, Deputy Secretary of Economic Development & Chief Manufacturing Officer for FloridaCommerce. “This competition shines a spotlight on the talent, creativity, and products that are driving our economy and putting Florida on the map for manufacturing excellence.”
The inaugural year of the Coolest Thing Made in Florida competition generated exceptional engagement across Florida, with more than 400,000 votes cast by Floridians over several rounds of online voting. The campaign sparked statewide enthusiasm for Florida-made products and shined a spotlight on the manufacturers driving innovation in communities large and small.
Dozens of nominations from across Florida were narrowed down through four rounds of public voting to the Top 2 finalists, culminating in today’s live winner announcement.
“We are deeply honored to be named the inaugural winner of the Coolest Thing Made in Florida competition,” said Chris Celtruda, CEO of Chromalloy. “This recognition reflects the dedication and ingenuity of the entire Chromalloy workforce—especially our teams in Tampa Bay and Palm Beach Gardens—whose commitment to innovation and excellence continues to shape our industry and strengthen Florida’s manufacturing legacy. We’re proud to make Florida a cornerstone of our strategic growth and to build products that embody both cutting-edge technology and the spirit of our state.”
Florida’s manufacturing sector continues to play an increasingly important role in strengthening the state’s economy, employing more than 430,000 Floridians and contributing over $72 billion in exports each year. With strong growth and statewide collaboration, Florida now ranks No. 10 nationally for manufacturing employment, ahead of Georgia, positioning the state within reach of its goal to become a Top 5 manufacturing state by 2030.
