Port Panama City’s Economic Impact is Strong

Port Panama City Port Director Alex King recently delivered a state of the ports address to members of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, and as area business leaders learned, Port Panama City’s economic impact is strong.

Located adjacent to the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches, Port Panama City has a direct $1.6 billion economic impact, creates 11,000 jobs, and serves as an economic and supply chain hub that expands its spokes throughout the world.

With two major infrastructure projects currently in the pipeline, that economic impact is poised to strengthen even further.

In 2025, the port will begin construction on a second major warehouse, and in 2027, construction on the East Terminal turning basin and expansion project will get underway.
