Innovation Caucus meeting focuses on economic development, workforce and more

Innovation leaders around the state gathered on August 16 for the Florida Chamber Foundation’s quarterly Innovation Caucus meeting. Senator Jeff Brandes led a discussion on innovation’s role in Florida’s economic development and additional topics included current and future workforce, angel investment and the future of Florida’s innovation economy.

Other discussion leaders included:

  • Jackson Streeter – CEO, Florida Institute for Commercialization of Public Research
  • Spiro Stefanou, Ph.D. – Professor and Chair of Food & Resource Economics, University of Florida
  • Blaire Martin – Director, Florida Angel Nexus
  • Aaron Schmerbeck, Ph.D. – Chief Economist, CareerSource Florida

The next Innovation Caucus meeting will be held at the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Florida Forum in Orlando on Thursday, September 29 from 2:30 to 4:00 pm.
