Disney Sprinkles ‘Pixie Dust’ on Florida Classrooms with 500,000-Supply Donation Drive

Florida’s teachers and students are heading into the new school year with an extra dose of Disney magic. On August 19, 2025, Walt Disney World concluded its largest VoluntEARS initiative of the summer—its Back-to-School Supply Drive—at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, where more than 200 cast members gathered to sort over 135,000 donated school supplies for A Gift for Teaching, a long-time nonprofit partner serving educators in Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, and Polk counties.

Beyond the supply collection effort, Disney made a substantial monetary contribution that amounts to approximately 360,000 additional school supplies, joining a separate $500,000 donation made earlier in the summer to support local education programs.

The supply drive is one of several community-focused efforts Disney executed this summer. Other initiatives included surprising teachers with park tickets, hosting students for educational events like The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, and more. These varied activities signal Disney’s holistic and ongoing effort to engage, support, and uplift its Central Florida neighbors.
