Tampa Electric CEO to Serve as Regional Chair for Florida Chamber

 

 

Tampa, Fla., Feb. 7, 2023 Archie Collins, president and chief executive officer of Tampa Electric, is serving as Tampa Bay Regional chair of the Florida Chamber of Commerce for the second year. Collins serves on the Florida Chamber board of directors, was regional chair in 2022 and has 30 years of experience in the energy industry.

Tampa Bay is a hub for economic activity, where tourism, health care, finance, insurance, technology, construction and maritime industries are thriving.

“The Tampa Bay region is experiencing unprecedented growth, fueled by the strength and diversity in our economy,” said Collins. “Our industries support a workforce of nearly 2 million people, and we continue to attract talent from across the nation.”

According to the Florida Chamber of Commerce, by 2030, Florida is expected to be home to more than 4 million new residents, who will need nearly 2 million new jobs. The focus of the chamber will continue to be encouraging a business-friendly climate that allows employers to provide jobs and to contribute to Florida’s economy.

Tampa Electric, one of Florida’s largest investor-owned electric utilities, serves about 830,000 customers in West Central Florida. Tampa Electric is a subsidiary of Emera Inc., a geographically diverse energy and services company headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
