Florida’s Economy: What the Road to Recovery Looks Like

Free for Florida Chamber Members and Foundation Trustees!

Our first webinar on this topic was so popular, we decided to bring it back again with the latest updates on the coronavirus, its impact to Florida along with other economic data you’ll want to learn about.  The Florida Chamber of Commerce is the only state chamber in America with its own economist – Dr. Jerry Parrish.  In light of that, we plan to keep you in the know on the economic front as well as what the health and safety data is telling us as we plan to restart Florida’s economy.

Prior to the coronavirus taking hold in the sunshine state, Florida was an economic powerhouse.  We’ve done a lot to diversify Florida’s economy which will prove to be helpful.  However, Florida still has some unique challenges including our heavy reliance on sales and use tax revenues, the number of people age 65 or older, and our share of tax receipts coming from tourism.

On Tuesday, April 28 at 1:00 p.m., Dr. Parrish and I will provide real-time data on how COVID-19 has impacted our state and will discuss some of the key trends and variables that will determine how our economy fares from this point forward.  We hope you can join us for this special event

Florida Chamber Executive Vice President David Hart will join the lineup to summarize some of the key themes from Governor Ron DeSantis’ Re-Open Florida Task Force and the various Industry Working Groups.

Member Fee: $0
Non-Member Fee: $49

To help ensure Dr. Parrish and I address your questions, please answer our brief survey which is included as part of the registration process. In the meantime, thanks for everything you are doing to keep Florida safe.  The Florida Chamber will do everything we can to ensure we emerge from this downturn even stronger than before.
