Prior to this, she held the Managing Director of Finance and Operations position at the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce. Katie’s drive to envision and actualize new possibilities to fuel organizational growth and continuous improvement has remained a constant throughout her career.

Katie’s current focus at the Florida Chamber is on integrating initiatives from the six-year Strategic Plan into existing priorities, programs, and entities to ensure seamless execution, while maintaining brand integrity. This includes launching of a state-wide Safety Council, with elements such as a comprehensive study of Florida’s current safety status, private and public organizational safety training programs, a state-wide annual safety conference, expansion of The Institute for a Safer Florida, and development of a Safety Advisory Board.

Katie earned her MBA and MS in Accountancy at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. Her MBA included a concentration in Corporate Management. Katie’s earlier employment background includes positions in financial advising, financial management, and business management. She has always been highly active in regional and national affiliations, as well as in community activities. This includes membership on the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Emerging Leadership Board, Dane County YMCA Board, and in the Doyenne Group. Katie was a charter-founding member of Wisconsin Women Entrepreneurs Southcentral, Inc. She’s also a member of the National Safety Council and Council of State Chambers. Katie enjoys public speaking and has led presentations at the Wisconsin Safety Council Conference and Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives Conference.

Katie’s spare-time activities have included exciting and adventurous physical challenges, such as summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, finishing four times in the Ironman competition, and completing the Dopey Challenge during Disney Marathon Week multiple times. She also enjoys spending time with her children on the family farm and cooking.

“Katie Yeutter embodies the most passion and most effectiveness as a leader that I’ve experienced in my naval and corporate experience spanning 30 years. After a successful tour as the commanding officer of the nuclear-powered attack submarine, USS Texas (SSN-775), serving as a Naval Aide to President George W. Bush, and now as the Executive Director for Patient Safety for the largest hospital group in the Southeast, I’ve witnessed a wide array of leaders. I understand the challenges leaders face and know full well what makes a quality leader. I have no doubts in my mind that Katie represents the top 1%. Her passion, professionalism, and calm demeanor are just a few of her many incredible, noteworthy talents. What Katie has done for the Florida Safety Council as President in such a short period of time is simply amazing, Katie Yeutter is an incredible leaders for all others to emulate.”–Robert “Navy Bob” Roncska, Corporate Executive Director for High Reliability and Unit Culture, AdventHealth
