Lakeland, FL, May 2, 2022. Tampa Maid Foods announced today that Shawn Meaney has been appointed the new President and COO of the company. An experienced business leader, Shawn is succeeding Rod Van Wyngarden and assumes responsibilities on May 2, 2022.
Shawn joins Tampa Maid Foods with impressive credentials including 30 years’ experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industries with a strong background in supply chain and manufacturing. He has held senior leadership roles with several companies including Keebler Company, Sara Lee Brands, E&J Gallo Winery, and ConAgra Brands. Shawn also led JM Swank, a nation-wide food ingredients distributor. After JM Swank, he successfully built a new company focused on distributing ingredients and other materials to the craft brewing and distilling industry.

While CEO/COO of JW Swank, Shawn successfully led the transition of JM Swank and Armour Specialty Marketing (ASM) from publicly held company ownership to free-standing business under private equity ownership. As the Vice President/General Manager, ConAgra Foods, he championed the initiative to become the first fully certified domestic food ingredient distributor under the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) in 2013.
Meaney holds a BA in Transportation/Logistics from Iowa State University and an
Executive MBA from University of Iowa Tippie School of Management.
