SeaWorld Joins Group of Leaders to Establish the Florida Coral Rescue Center

In response to an impending environmental crisis sweeping across the Florida Reef Tract, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is proud to join a leading group of coral reef management and conservation leaders in establishing the Florida Coral Rescue Center.

The nation’s largest state-of-the-art facility is being utilized for gene banking and to care for rescued coral not yet affected by stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD). Under the guidance of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA), SeaWorld coral biologists manage daily operations and the 18 aquarium pools growing hundreds of species that are under threat from disease and pollution.

This unprecedented partnership includes SeaWorld, AZA, NOAA Fisheries, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida, Disney Conservation Fund and others.
