Nova Southeastern University hosted its annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Armed Forces Service Plaza on its Davie campus, bringing together veterans, service-connected students, families, and the broader university community in recognition of their service and sacrifice. Retired Lieutenant General Nadja Y. West, the 44th Surgeon General of the U.S. Army and first African-American woman to hold the position, delivered the keynote address, drawing on her distinguished military career to demonstrate leadership and resilience in action. The event also highlighted NSU’s deep commitment to veterans—through generous scholarships, tailored academic programs, a dedicated Military to Medicine track, and robust participation in the Yellow Ribbon program. With more than 1,000 military-connected students enrolled and a $6 million state appropriation recently awarded to expand its Veterans Care Program, NSU is further enhancing access to dental, vision, hearing, and mental-health services for veterans and their families—cementing the university’s role as a champion for those who have served.
