Google’s Latino Founders Fund – Congratulating Miami Winners – Largest in the US!

Florida had the largest number of tech founders in the US at 8 and Miami had the largest number from a city in the US with 5 to have been selected to be among the inaugural class of Google’s Latino Founders Fund. This $7 million fund will help the Latino startup community get access to the capital they need to scale and grow their businesses.

Winners are:

Pedro Sostre, Navigate Accelerator

Alvaro De Jesus, Pivot

Gustavo Lozano Velez, People Clark

Alejandro Alvarez, Moneta Tech

Ivo Machado, Wisecut

Francisco Cornejo, Storybook

Andres Joya, Coally Inc

Diego Sampaio, Globalfy

Founders will receive up to $100,000 in non-dilutive funding – critical capital that helps founders retain ownership of their company and avoid debt. In addition, founders will receive hands-on programming and support from Google, mentorship from business and technical experts, and the opportunity to network with the vibrant community of fellow founders.

It’s no secret that Latinos continue to struggle to secure funding and capital, despite being the fastest growing segment of the US small business ecosystem. Google believes that technology works best when it works for everyone – they are proud to continue our commitments to racial equity and that startup community.
