Florida Power & Light Company recently partnered with Community Cooperative to distribute hurricane preparedness meal kits to 500 seniors in the Fort Myers area, helping older adults get ready for the upcoming storm season.
Each kit included enough shelf-stable food, bottled water, snacks, and preparedness information to support recipients for several days during an emergency. The initiative was designed to provide practical resources while encouraging residents to develop emergency plans before severe weather strikes.
By working together, Florida Power & Light and Community Cooperative helped strengthen disaster readiness for vulnerable members of the community, giving seniors additional tools and confidence to navigate hurricane season safely.
