Lisa Wiggins serves in the inaugural role of Controller overseeing the day-to-day accounting and finance operations for the Florida Chamber of Commerce Enterprise. After spending 26 years combined in accounting, finance, audit, banking, and entrepreneurship including over two decades in mission-based, nonprofit work, she brings a wealth of experience in managing finance teams, ensuring federal and state grants compliance, implementing accounting policies and procedures, and analyzing budgets and financial statements.
Since 1994, Lisa has served in increasingly responsible positions managing federal grant reporting, directing external audit and federal grants monitoring efforts, reviewing grant accounting practices for compliance, and enhancing accounting processes. Having most recently led the accounting, procurement, contracts, and grants operations as Controller at the CareerSource Florida, Inc. where she served for 15 years, the nonprofit achieved consecutive clean audits each year under her leadership. Lisa previously operated an accounting and tax business consulting proprietorship and led the accounting teams for 3 North Florida locations of the Children’s Home Society of Florida.
A philanthropist, Lisa advocates for financial literacy in our communities and is certified in financial education instruction, receiving her CFEI credentials from the National Financial Educators Council. She volunteers in leadership roles with faith-based nonprofits and is President-Elect on the board of the Tallahassee Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants where she has been an engaged member since 2011. She sat on the Keiser University Advisory Board for Business and participated in the Florida Chamber Small Business Council. Additionally, she is a Notary Public and is active in the Institute of Management Accountants, National Forum for Black Public Administrators, Personal Finance Speakers Association, and Society for Human Resource Management.
Lisa, a sixth generation Floridian, was born and raised in Panama City, Florida. A multipreneur, she lives Free Enterprise and knows the value small businesses contribute toward propelling Florida’s economy. Her accounting passion awakened while a college sophomore and teller at a credit union when she changed her major after taking an accounting course at Gulf Coast State College. As a result, she landed an accounting job at West Florida Natural Gas Company, now TECO People’s Gas. Two years later, she moved to Tallahassee and while an Accountant at the nonprofit FRPCJUA, now Citizens Property Insurance, she earned her B.S. in Accounting at Florida State University and later earned a M.A. in Human Services with Executive Leadership concentration from the Liberty University.
A Florida seafood lover and enthusiast of Southern sweet tea and lemonade, she enjoys singing, Zumba, roller skating, playing volleyball, salsa dancing, cruise ship sailing, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Lisa and her two children live in the Tallahassee Metro area.
