Thanks for joining us on the Florida Chamber webinar, Florida’s Economy: What the Road to Recovery Looks Like. As we mentioned on the call, there are many variables that will come into play as Florida plans to reopen its economy. Some of the key themes you heard from Governor DeSantis’ Chief of Staff Shane Strum and our team included:
- Special considerations must be given to small businesses as they account for a disproportionately high number of Florida companies, and given this pandemic, are often resource-strained
- Employers need clear, concise and consistent guidelines for what is needed from a health and safety perspective for both employees and their customers
- We must ensure local adherence to hard “health metrics” so we don’t experience a resurgence of the virus causing a secondary shutdown of the economy.
Rest assured the Florida Chamber is working daily with Governor DeSantis and other key elected leaders to bring economic recovery back to the sunshine state as quickly as possible, but also in a deliberate and thoughtful way that emphasizes safety for all Floridians.
