As Chief Information Officer for the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Florida’s largest, most respected and influential pro-business advocacy organization, Blake Gehres is responsible for the continued development of the information technology infrastructure of the Chamber as well as all subsidiaries and affiliates.
Leveraging more than 30 years in data processing Gehres combines technical expertise with business goals and vision by directing the analysis, management and monitoring of the Florida Chamber’s computer systems and information databases. He manages outsourced projects and system implementations, directs systems analysis and application development. In his 20 year career with the Chamber, Gehres has lead the Chamber through four database conversions, seven website conversions, three unified messaging implementations and launched the Chamber’s video production studio, Studio136.
In addition to managing the Chamber’s technology infrastructure, Gehres directs the audio visual deployments and brand management for the all enterprise meetings, events and summits.
Prior to joining the Florida Chamber, Gehres served as a Systems Programming Administrator for the state of Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). While at the AHCA, he directed operations within their Computing Resource Center, the hub of the agency’s statewide network of local health councils and Medicaid offices. Gehres was the technical lead on the agency’s development of the first ever Medicaid Data Warehouse improving claim processing and reducing fraud. He also served as the agency’s Security/Disaster Recovery Officer and managed risk analysis, security awareness, contingency planning and recovery testing.
Gehres received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida State University and is affectionately referred to as the VP of Coolness by Chamber staff.
