Governor Rick Scott Names Constitution Revision Commission Appointees

On March 3, Gov. Rick Scott appointed 14 members to the upcoming Constitution Revision Commission (CRC), a 37-member body that convenes every 20 years to review the Florida Constitution and has the power to place proposed amendments directly on the ballot. Included in the Governor’s appointments was Belinda Keiser, Vice Chancellor of Keiser University and a long-serving member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.  Keiser also serves as the Talent Supply and Education Pillar Chair of the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Policy Council.

In addition to the 14 individuals appointed by the governor, Carlos Beruff, a Bradenton real estate developer and a 2016 U.S. Senate candidate, was named as the Chairman of the Commission, with broad powers over the rules and agenda for the Commission. Jeff Woodburn, as the Executive Director of Commission, will oversee the commission staff and handle day-to-day operations of the CRC.
