The Florida Chamber of Commerce is once again uniting Florida’s business community for good and today endorsed Jon Maples in the special election for House District 87 taking place on March 24th.
Jon Maples’ background as a businessman and local community leader has demonstrated his commitment to promoting free enterprise in Florida. In the Florida House, Maples looks to focus on removing burdensome red tape and to support the private sector solutions that will create high-paying jobs for Floridians.
“While Florida continues its growth and economic momentum, we need strong leadership committed to championing the policies necessary to further Florida’s global competitiveness, job creation, and a vibrant quality of life,” said Mark Wilson, President & CEO, Florida Chamber of Commerce. “The Florida Chamber has put forth a strategic plan to make Florida a top ten global economy by 2030, as well as create 1.34 million net new jobs, and we trust Jon Maples will help keep us on a pathway to get there as members of the Florida House.”
“It’s an honor to receive the Florida Chamber’s endorsement,” said Jon Maples. “I believe we can continue to grow Florida’s economy and lower costs for families by empowering job creators, cutting taxes, and eliminating regulations that hurt local businesses. I look forward to working with the Florida Chamber as a member of the Florida House!”
House District 87 rates as a Lean Republican district on the Florida Chamber’s Partisan Performance Index. President Trump carried the district by a 55-44% margin in the 2024 general election, and Governor DeSantis won HD-87 by a 58-41% margin over Charlie Crist in 2022.
The Florida Chamber of Commerce puts its full 100-plus years of combined political experience behind getting Jon Maples elected.
