Statement on the House Passage of Transportation Network Companies

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 27, 2016) – The Florida Chamber of Commerce today released the following statement from David Hart, Executive Vice President, on the House of Representatives passage of HB 509 – transportation network companies.

“The Florida House of Representatives today took a major step toward creating a welcoming regulatory climate that embraces innovation, strengthens job growth and provides ridesharing opportunities for all Floridians and the 100 million plus tourists we welcome to our state annually.

“With the House passage of the transportation network companies’ bill, Florida is taking steps to ensure that the Sunshine State is not being left behind other states that have already approved ridesharing policies.

“The Florida Chamber of Commerce applauds the Florida House of Representatives for allowing cutting edge technology to thrive and make Florida more competitive.”
