2030 Goal Leader Update:

Chamber & Industry Leaders Gather to Address Affordable Housing at Premier Housing Conference in Orlando

The Florida Housing Coalition recently hosted a number of Chamber and Industry leaders at its annual Home Matters Conference held in Orlando. As the premier housing event in Florida, this Conference attracts more than 1100 affordable housing professionals, advocates, lenders, developers, administrators, and policymakers.

In a special forum dedicated to highlighting the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Florida 2030 Blueprint, Chamber Foundation Senior Vice President of Equality of Opportunity Kyle Baltuch and Dave Sobush, Director of Research were joined by Beth Cicchetti, Executive Director of the Florida Economic Development Council, Bruce Lyon, President, Winter Haven Economic Development Council, AJ Meyer, Vice President of Project Development, ANF Group, and Kevin Sheilley, President/CEO of the Ocala Metro Chamber in a panel discussion moderated by Florida Chamber Board Member Kate Wilson, Senior Vice President of Social Impact for Wells Fargo. Each panel member highlighted how their organization or community is leveraging the Blueprint to change the way we view, talk about, produce, and preserve housing that’s affordable.

The Florida Housing Coalition is the Florida Chamber’s housing goal leader. The Coalition seeks to work with employers on employee-assisted housing programs to encourage better partnerships between government and the private sector, and to support cross-sector collaboration to ensure a sufficient supply of housing for Floridians who are housing cost-burdened.
