Trey Paris is U.S. Manager of State Government Relations with the General Electric Company. He also manages state government relations for Atlanta-based GE Energy, one of GE’s largest operational businesses. Trey joined General Electric in 2001 as State Government Relations Region Manager for the ten-state southeast region.
Previously, Trey was a fourteen year employee of The Coca-Cola Company, most recently as Manager of Global Communications, where he was responsible for public affairs and corporate media relations. For seven years prior to that, he was Manager of Shareowner Affairs, part of Coca-Cola’s Executive Division. He also spent four years as Manager of Governmental Relations, overseeing Coca-Cola’s U.S. government affairs program.
Trey graduated from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, where he earned his B.B.A. in 1984 and his M.B.A. in 1985. Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, he worked for The Citizens and Southern Bank (now Bank of America) first in corporate lending and then as a bank officer in governmental relations.
Trey serves on the Board of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and is active with the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Atlanta Committee for Progress. He is also a Trustee of the Richard B. Russell Foundation, and he is a 1991 graduate of Leadership Georgia.
Trey has served on a number of civic boards, including: the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, SciTrek, and the Atlanta Sports Council. He is currently the Development Chair and a Board Trustee at Lakeview Academy; he serves on the Board of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center; and he is active with the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Foundation. Trey continues to remain involved with the University of Georgia, where is active as the immediate Past President of the UGA Alumni Association. He is also a Past President of the Terry College of Business Alumni Board, where he also remains active. Trey is a Trustee of the UGA Foundation, a member of the President’s Club, and was honored as the Terry College of Business Outstanding Young Alumni in 1990.
Trey resides in Gainesville, GA with his wife, Sandra, and their two children, Eliza and Thomas.
