Carolyn Gosselin is a communications executive with more than 30 years of marketing, crisis communications and public, community, media and government relations experience. She founded her firm, Gosselin, Inc., in 2010, to serve national and regional clients and position them as industry leaders by aligning communications strategies and marketing initiatives to best accomplish clients’ business objectives, mitigate business risks and design effective communications and marketing teams. Her client list included Simply Southern Restaurant Group, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Association for Corporate Growth and the National Restaurant Association.
Gosselin’s prior experience includes serving as the Communications Director for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity under Gov. Rick Scott and as president of Petrizzo Strategic Group, a Washington, D.C. – based lobbying firm representing clients across the United States.
Prior to opening Gosselin, Inc., Carolyn was senior vice president and chief communications officer for CNL Financial Group, Inc., a privately-held real estate investment company in Orlando, FL, where she served as corporate spokesperson and managed the corporate communications function including media relations, investor relations, marketing, brand, corporate philanthropy, internal communications and public affairs. She established relationships with national financial and trade media and consistently obtained millions of dollars in annual media coverage for the company and its affiliates.
Gosselin spent 10 years in marketing and public relations at SunTrust Bank, both in Orlando and Atlanta. As first vice president and manager of corporate communications, she played an integral role in establishing the bank holding company’s corporate communications department. Gosselin also served as associate director of public relations for Universal Studios Florida and as founder and general manager of Young & Rubicam’s Orlando office.
In 2005, Gosselin was named the University of Florida, College of Journalism and Communications’ Alumna of Distinction. She was also named one of Orlando’s “Women Who Mean Business” by the Orlando Business Journal. She is the recipient of more than 20 state and local Golden Image Awards from the Florida Public Relations Association.
Gosselin’s state and community involvement is extensive. She served on the Federal Judicial Nominating Committee for the Middle District of Florida; the Orange County Expressway Authority Citizen’s Advisory Committee and the Operations Committee; foundation board member at Orlando Health; board member and executive committee member at the Central Florida Partnership; graduate of Leadership Florida, Leadership Central Florida and Leadership Orlando; executive committee member of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Council; executive committee member, Central Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the University of Florida Flagship Council.
Gosselin has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Master of Arts in Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida. She is a graduate of Financial Reporting at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business and Leadership at the Peak at the world-renowned Center for Creative Leadership.
