To accurately reflect changes in population, Florida’s political boundary lines must be redrawn every 10 years. With the latest census completed in 2010, redistricting will now begin in 2012, which means 2011 will be filled with hearings centered on how the maps will be drawn. As we head into next year’s legislative session, which begins in January to handle redistricting, we encourage all local chambers to attend a hearing near you and let your voice be heard.
