Access to Small Business Capital
Where We Stand: What this means for your business
Small businesses account for three-quarters of all new jobs in this country and these business owners embody the spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship and individual initiative. According to the report on Small Business Issues and Recommendations released by the state’s Small Business Advocate office, access to capital financing for expansion and new venture formation ranked as the top issue facing small-and medium-sized enterprises in Florida.
The Florida Chamber supports state and federal measures to increase access to capital needed for growth for Florida small businesses. The Florida Chamber’s Small Business Council has been Florida’s leading advocate for the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) to ensure that small businesses have the access to capital necessary to create jobs and continue growing.
The Florida Chamber will continue working with Governor Rick Scott, Executive Director Doug Darling and the Department of Economic Opportunity to make sure that the SSBCI helps Florida’s small businesses and make Florida the No. 1 job creator in the country.
