Why It Matters to Florida

The Florida Chamber and its Healthcare Partnership believe that a healthy population and a strong, growing economy are intrinsically interconnected and as such, we will continue advocating for a coordinated, comprehensive approach that emphasizes value with outcome measurements.

The Florida Chamber Healthcare Partnership is made up of diverse business leaders, all working towards the goal of lowering costs and providing better outcomes within Florida’s healthcare system. The Healthcare Partnership is chaired by Russ Thomas, the CEO of Availity.

Florida’s Competitiveness Agenda

A value-based healthcare system focused on outcomes is a vital component to the overall economic health of our state and critical to Florida’s future competitiveness. To provide healthcare to the state’s growing and aging population and make Florida a top 12 state for wellness as outlined by the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 2030 Blueprint goals, the Healthcare Partnership is focused on market-based, innovative policies that will control costs, increase transparency, deliver greater access & quality of care, and promote a healthy population.

As Part of the Healthcare Partnership, Members Will:

  • Participate in regular discussions focused on pioneering change that will provide better patient outcomes while lowering costs.
  • Determine ways to provide market-based, public policy solutions that address the rising cost of healthcare for businesses of all sectors and sizes.
  • Be a part of the solution and join in the pursuit to implement innovative policies that accentuate Florida’s free-market environment and improve access to care.

The Fight for Free Enterprise Continues

Healthcare coverage in Florida is not a simple “yes” or “no” question, nor is it a one-size-fits-all solution. The Florida Chamber believes Florida can, and should, do better.
