Course Description

This six-hour comprehensive course includes a CPR/First Aid/AED certification and card, a bloodborne pathogens completion card and certificate as well as a total of .95 CEUs upon successful completion. The First Aid/CPR/AED section of this course was developed by the National Safety Council and provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to execute life-saving techniques. This course is the only nationally recognized first aid training to meet OSHA best practices. By engaging in hands-on practice, participants experience greater retention and develop the confidence to respond correctly during a medical emergency.

During the bloodborne pathogens section of the course, participants will learn the fundamentals of bloodborne pathogens, essential information on hepatitis viruses and HIV, how to prevent infection from bloodborne pathogens, exposure controls, labeling, and key facts about airborne and bloodborne pathogens, including tuberculosis. This course will also help you understand the standard and have a copy of it to keep onsite, offer refresher training, learn how to control the spread of TB, influenza, and other airborne pathogens, and know what to do if an exposure occurs.

Certifications and CEUs

During this one-day training, participants will receive two certificates upon successful completion. For the First Aid/CPR/AED training participants will receive a certification and card from the National Safety Council and earn .55 CEUs from the Florida Chamber Safety Council. The bloodborne pathogens section will provide participants with a course completion card and certificate. Each student will also earn .4 CEUs from the Florida Chamber Safety Council. Together, participants will finish the day with .95 CEUs and two certifications upon completion.
