BREAKING – Florida House Approves Bill That Threatens Tourism Industry

A few moments ago the Florida House voted by a 80-35 margin to approve HB 9, sponsored by Rep. Paul Renner (R-Palm Coast). Despite overwhelming opposition and more than 40,000 messages from Florida Chamber members opposing the bill, the Florida House voted to support:

  • Restricting the operations of VISIT Florida,
  • Reallocating funds originally intended for tourism marketing, and
  • Reducing collaboration with business, local government, and nonprofit partners by restricting the use of monies toward required matching dollars, such as in-kind contributions and tourism development tax dollars.

HB 9 now travels to the Florida Senate.

Be on the lookout for future messages encouraging you to communicate with Representatives that voted to support this harmful legislation.
